Malcolm Bornmann PPJ 06
List of Completed Tasks
- Discussed Tony's feedback and next steps with team after class (30 min)
- Completed GMAP 378 Mid-Term Self and Peer Evaluations (1 hr)
- Art Meeting where we talked about UI work, assigned tasks, and discussed assets needed for Level 3 and Level 4 (1 hr 30 min)
- As mentioned last week, I've been experiencing technical issues with SourceTree which has prevented me from pushing changes to GitHub. I troubleshooted some more with SourceTree. This did not work, so at the recommendation of Peter, I deleted SourceTree and downloaded GitHub Desktop instead. After setting everything back up, I can now push to GitHub! Lesson Learned: GitHub Desktop is the way to go. (1 hr 30 min)
- Design Meeting where we talked about the controls of the game. I unfortunately had another commitment that caused me to join this meeting late. (25 min)
- Designed and pushed a rectangular maze concept for Jake M. to test as we figure out the best layout for the Level 4 maze. (1 hr)
- Designed and pushed pieces for the circle maze (40 min)
- Provided feedback on assets and playtest survey via Discord (10 min)
- Edited scrum presentation (15 min)
Total number of hours: 7hrs
Sample(s) of work:
Level 4 Maze Concepts and Assets
What Went Right:
The Level 4 Maze has been a tricky challenge to solve. After the work of this week, we have a solid direction for not only the level design of the maze, but also how it will fit into the larger narrative. Level 3 is finally getting some attention in asset creation as well.
What Went Wrong:
This week was a slow week for everyone. On my end, I had to prioritize deadlines and meeting times of other commitments that prevented me from focusing my energy on this project.
Working on Next:
- Create Assets for Level 3 to fill in the scene
- Help refine levels where needed
- Conduct playtests of game
- Contribute to Status Report 06 and Sell 01
